Alas, the business of running a club is an uncertain one, and these things happen. So we say bye to the Barfly happy and content at having established a well-attended, well-danced and well-loved night without deviating from those musical and ideological tenets we have been carrying with us since we first began this promotion thing at The Do (and Nascent, and Ladyfest, and Lilo Feast, and 20JFG…).

Thanks to everyone who has come, helped and danced, and thanks to the Barfly staff for having been a fantastic crew to work with, shame our adventures in this venue had to end this way, so suddenly. We shall be celebrating some sort of one-off party over the summer to bid farewell to this incarnation of 13 Monsters, and get excited about the new one, which might have a new name, or perhaps not. We are already working on it.

We won’t go out with a whimper, but with a BANG, that’s the 13 Monsters way.

We’ll keep you posted, in any case. It’s not over.
